| Second Call for Abstracts – Deadline Now Extended to May 1, 2024 This is the second call for abstracts for technical papers for G4SR-5. Original papers and novel reviews of a significant area related to advanced and small reactor development and deployment that have not been published previously are welcome. Preliminary technical track themes include: Research and Development supporting advanced reactors and SMRs R&D supporting microreactors, research reactors and extraterrestrial reactors Decommissioning, waste management and the fuel cycle Security, safety assessment and regulatory activitiesPublic policy and engagement Economics, financing and business models Nuclear-enabled integrated and hybrid energy systems and energy supply mixSkill development, nuclear knowledge and work force management Manufacturing and supply chain Deployment Abstracts are to be a maximum of 200 words and submitted in English. The abstract submission deadline is May 1, 2024. Consult the Call for Papers for additional information and to submit your abstract. Wilson was one of the founders of the Canadian Nuclear Society’s Generation IV and Small Reactor Division and inaugural chair of the G4SR conference series, continuing to contribute to the conference organization as a member of the organizing committee. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Wilson worked in the nuclear industry with Ontario Hydro and later as a policy advisor with the Government of Ontario. In 2020 he received the Canadian Nuclear Achievement Award for Education and Communications. Wilson’s obituary may be read here. |
