As President of the Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS), I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Neil Alexander as the Communications Director for CNS effective May 1st, 2022. This appointment will help the CNS fulfill its mandate of providing a consistently reliable, trusted and accurate source of factual information on all aspects of nuclear technology, thereby enhancing valued partnerships. Neil has more than 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry. He has worked in a broad range of technologies including power generation, decommissioning, nuclear waste management, medical isotopes, Small Modular Reactors, fusion, and the supply chain. He has also served in senior executive roles in several organizations including the Sylvia Fedoruk Centre for Nuclear Innovation, Rolls-Royce Civil Nuclear Canada, and Organization of CANDU Industries (OCI). Throughout his career, Neil has been a prolific communicator in written and spoken form and on social media. We are confident that his experience in the nuclear industry will allow him to establish and implement the CNS Strategic Communications Plan in alignment with its partners and stakeholders. Going forward, Neil will get in touch with his counterparts in the industry as he fulfills his role. We congratulate Neil on his appointment and wish him success.
