CNS Geiger Counter Program
Bringing Radiation Science into Canadian Classrooms
The Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) Geiger Counter Program helps educators introduce students to radiation science through hands-on learning and scientific inquiry. By providing access to classroom-safe Geiger counters and practical teaching resources, the program allows students to explore naturally occurring radiation, collect real-world data, and develop a deeper understanding of an important area of science and technology.
Radiation is a natural part of our environment and plays an important role in medicine, energy production, research, and industry. The Geiger Counter Program helps students build scientific literacy by encouraging observation, measurement, critical thinking, and evidence-based learning.
