SUMMARY:1st International Technical Meeting on Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness for the Nuclear Industry
DESCRIPTION:Host Sponsor\n \nConference Program\nClick here for the conference program \nObjective\nThe earthquake and tsunami at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant in Japan in March 2011 reinforced the need for comprehensive emergency response capability for highly unlikely radiological events that have the potential to harm the public\, workers\, or the environment.  In the three years since the events at Fukushima\, nuclear facilities in every country have conducted systematic reviews of their readiness to respond to an emergency and capability has been enhanced. Fire protection has always been a major component of nuclear emergency response and reviews continue to provide insights into how these resources can best be deployed to reduce public risk.   \n Many of the lessons learned from the post-Fukushima reviews will be captured in new and revised international standards (WANO\, IAEA) and Canadian regulatory documents (CNSC\, CSA).   The 1st CNS Technical Meeting on Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness will provide a forum to communicate on challenges presently impacting the nuclear industry and share lessons learned from reviews\, drills\, and major exercises.   \n FSEP-2015 is intended to attract participants from all sectors of the nuclear industry that maintain formal emergency response plans and those municipal\, provincial\, and federal agencies that would provide support during an emergency.  \nCall for Papers\nClick here to download / share the Call for Papers (PDF) document. \nAbstracts\nAbstracts (<250 words) and presentations must be submitted via the submission link. All presentations will be published in a CD to be distributed at the meeting.  The required format of submission is electronic (MSWord or PDF). \nSponsorship and Exhibition Opportunities Package\nClick here to download / share S&E Opportunities Package and forms. \n  \nOur Sponsors\nHost Sponsor: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSilver Sponsor: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsors: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Exhibitors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\nClick here to register online. \nNote:  To register as a CNS member\, your membership must be in good standing for 2015. \nAll prices include HST (#870488889 RT)  \n\n\n\n\nRegistering: \n\n\nBy May 1st \n\n\nAfter May 1st \n\n\n\n\nCNS Member \n\n\n$720.00 \n\n\n$820.00 \n\n\n\n\nNon CNS Member \n\n\n$820.00 \n\n\n$920.00 \n\n\n\n\nCNS Retiree Member \n\n\n$400.00 \n\n\n$450.00 \n\n\n\n\nFull-Time Student \n\n\n$400.00 \n\n\n$450.00 \n\n\n\n\nOne-Day Rate Member \n\n\n$410.00 \n\n\n$460.00 \n\n\n\n\nOne-Day Rate Non Member \n\n\n$460.00 \n\n\n$510.00 \n\n\n\n\nFSEP Exhibitor (1 allowed per booth) \n\n\n$0.00 \n\n\n$0.00 \n\n\n\n\n  \nKey Dates\n\n\n\n\nAbstract submission \n\n\n2014 December 30 \n\n\n\n\nAcceptance / author notification \n\n\n2015 January 30 \n\n\n\n\nFinal presentation submission \n\n\n2015 April 30 \n\n\n\n\n  \nTopics of Interest\n\n\n\n\nBusiness Performance and Governance \n\n\nHuman Performance \n\n\nTechnology \n\n\nProcesses and Programs \n\n\n\n\nRegulatory Affairs \n\n\nSuccession Planning \n\n\nCommunication \n\n\nNuclear Safety \n\n\n\n\nCodes & Standards \n\n\nInstructional Systems Development/Training \n\n\nEvent Simulation \n\n\nIntegrating Services \n\n\n\n\nLicense and Laws \n\n\nPersonnel Safety \n\n\nEME \n\n\nFire Prevention \n\n\n\n\nOrganizational Design/Alignment \n\n\nHuman Resources \n\n\nFukushima \n\n\nEngineering Change Control \n\n\n\n\nManagement Oversight \n\n\nLeadership \n\n\nEmerging Technologies \n\n\nBusiness Continuity \n\n\n\n\nVisions of the Future \n\n\nEthics \n\n\nAnalytical Tools \n\n\nRisk Management \n\n\n\n\nStrategies \n\n\nHuman Factors \n\n\nFire Protection Systems \n\n\nOPEX \n\n\n\n\nBusiness Metrics \n\n\nManagement of Performance Systems \n\n\nEmergency Response Equipment \n\n\nAnalysis\, Evaluation and Measurement \n\n\n\n\n  \nTechnical Meeting Organizers\nAdvisory Committee: Don Trylinski (OPG)\, Grant Cherkas (OPG)\, Cheryl McCulloch (Global Safety Corp.)\, Ivan Bolliger (CNSC)\, Jacques Plourde (Nuclear Insurance Assoc. of Canada)\, Jeremy Whitlock (CNL)\, Shahina Kurien (Bruce Power)\, Dan McArthur (Bruce Power)\,Doug Tennant (Deep River FD)\, Robert Elliott (Bruce Power)\, Scott Robertson (NB Power)\, Ben Rouben (CNS) \n\n\n\n\nHonorary Chair \n\n\nGreg Rzentkowski (CNSC) \n\n\n\n\nGeneral Chair \n\n\nTracy Lapping (CNL) \n\n\n\n\nTechnical Program Chair (Fire Safety) \n\n\nRudy Cronk (PLC Fire) \n\n\n\n\nTechnical Program Chair (Emergency Preparedness) \n\n\nGarry Fowles \n\n\n\n\n  \nAccommodations \nHilton Mississauga/Meadowvale \nBook your room online for special conference rates. \n
