SUMMARY:5th Nuclear Waste Management\, Decommissioning and Environmental Restoration Conference (NWMDER)
DESCRIPTION:Blue Mountain Resort\, Ontario \n\n\n\nThe 6th Canadian Conference on Waste Management\, Decommissioning and Environmental Restoration will be held in Blue Mountain on August24th-28th\, 2025. The theme of the conference is Balancing the Management of Radioactive Waste and Future Decommissioning Of Canada’s Existing Nuclear Fleet with the needs for building a new Zero-Carbon Future. \n\n\n\nCanada’s leading conference on radioactive waste and decommissioning is happening at an exciting time for the industry as the Deep Geological Repository for Spent Fuel project is moving to the next stage with NWMO’s announcement on it’s primary site.   \n\n\n\nAt the same time\, Canada is exploring further nuclear power stations to support the national strategy to develop Zero-Carbon Electricity where consideration of waste and decommissioning is an integral part of the regulatory design approval process. \n\n\n\nThe conference will be organized into three days of plenary sessions\, concurrent technical tracks and poster sessions with a business exhibition to showcase technology\, equipment and services. Optional post-conference technical tours will be available. More information to come!
