SUMMARY:NUCLEAR 2011
DESCRIPTION:The 4th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development through Nuclear Research and Education\n \nContext\n \nNuclear energy gains more and more in the energy share all around the world. Many countries from Europe and abroad have now ambitious nuclear programs. A large number of nuclear power plants is foreseen to be commissioned in the following years. \nCoherent policies\, supporting financial schemes\, high level of cooperation and competitiveness in nuclear research and industry should synergic act in order to insure the sustainable development of nuclear energy. \nOrganized under the auspices of the Romanian Academy\, Nuclear 2011 intends to bring together a large representation of nuclear research and industry\, academia and energy policy in order to address the major challenges facing nuclear energy today from the perspective of the future: safety\, security in energy supply\, waste management\, radioprotection and environmental protection\, knowledge transfer. \nThe previous three editions brought together participants from all over the world involved or interested in the nuclear energy research: Belgium\, Canada\, China\, Check Republic\, Egypt\, France\, Italy\, Japan\, Korea\, Libya\, Spain\, South Africa\, USA and UK. Representatives of well known research centres\, universities\, governmental organizations and nuclear industry provided an actual picture of the nuclear research today. \nThe 4th edition of the Conference coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Institute for Nuclear Research\, the national support organization\, deeply engaged in the sustainable development of nuclear energy in Romania. \n  \nPapers\nCall for Papers announcement (February 13\, 2011) \n  \n \nPurpose\n \nNuclear 2011 intends to reflect /illustrate the most original results recently achieved all around the world by nuclear energy research and education\, industry and operators in their efforts to meet the future expectations in this field. \nNuclear 2011 is structured as a three-day meeting consisting in plenary sessions\, parallel sessions\, poster presentations and round tables. \nNuclear 2011 invites most recent and original works reflecting the contribution of research and education to the sustainable development of nuclear energy. \nNuclear 2011 welcomes nuclear industry\, operators and policies makers to joint specialists and academia in a synergic dialogue to identify the best solutions to the current and future problems\, to build together the necessary solidarity at international level. \nA technical visit will follow the Conference on May 27\, 2011. \n  \n \nImportant Deadlines\n \nFebruary 28\, 2011 – Abstract submission and registration \nMarch 15\, 2011 – Notification for paper acceptance \nApril 15\, 2011 –  Full papers submission \nApril 30\, 2011 – Final paper acceptance \n  \n \nVenue\n \nConference will be hosted by the \n  \nInstitute for Nuclear Research Pite?ti\nCâmpului Street\, 1\, Mioveni\, 115400\, România Phone: +40 248 213 400; fax: +40 248 262 449 www.nuclear.ro
